Just picked up a Savage 110E in .308 and got a good deal on it I believe. Serial number puts it as 1980's manufacture. Nice wood stock and really good condition. It is my first bolt action centerfire rifle and I want to put a good scope on it but only have about $100 to spend. There are many choices out there. I would appreciate suggestions. I will not be hunting with it just want to have a rifle that I know I can hit the target with. Thanks.

Had good luck with my Bushnell XLT as far as clarity and holding zero. Also ya might want to look at the Nikon lower cost model which have good reviews. Bet you could find one in your price range on-line. I hear the accuracy on the Savage rifles is excellent. Great to have it in walnut!

I had a Savage 110 in 30-06 and I put a Cabela's brand scope on it. It was a 3x9x40 and sticker price was $99.99+tax. It was a great gun and a great scope. I think i remember reading somewhere that Leupold makes the glass for Cabela's scopes. But I may be mistaken.

I used a Bushnell Dusk and Dawn on my Savage 110 30-06 left hand model I used to have. It worked well for me good eye relief (very important), optics were good, and held zero just fine. I think it was around $80 about 10 years ago.

Here in Billings Montana about 40% of the rifles during sight in days are Vortex, 40% are Nikon and 20% everyone else.

Although Tasco scope don't gather much respect, I have found the Tasco World Class 3x9x40 to be an outstanding value, many times I find used ones that look brand new in pawn shops for $40.00 and under.

I just bought one that looked new for $25.00 and it will go on my CZ 527 in .223

My shop around here sell Leopold 3x9 for 155 , that would be a good one for that gun . Savage is a good gun they shoot well .

^^^ I have decided on a Leupold Rifleman 3-9x40 after much research. It's a little out of my price range, but I am planning to make this purchase only once and from what I have read the Leupold is a great scope and a great company. Thanks for the suggestions.
