Its a good price yes. Also its not easily found in 2". I used to have one in 4", but I got rid of it. Very dirty, lots of burning powder or unburnt powder being spit with each shot. I think while good in concept, the ammo makers put a curse on this. As with all rimfire ammo its a 1 size fits all with them, with no distinction between rifle and handgun ammo marketed for this caliber. There ought to be 22 magnum ammo on the market with fast burning handgun powder in the cases, but there is not.
I think especially with a 2" barrel, the performance increase you'll get over 22LR ammo is not that great, because the barrel is too short to build much additonal velocity. Some guys love the 22 Magnum handgun, but I think plenty of us out here who have owned them found them to be kind of lame and not anywhere near the gun we expected them to be. Buy it, try it, but don't be too disappointed if you find its not what you hoped it would be. You won't lose money on it and could easily move a 651 in the classifieds here.
