Saw one today. I want it but not sure I want to pay the $600 price tag. I guess it's how bad I want it. Ideas?

Got one yesterday and got a great price because friend owns gun store but it was retailing for $475. That was $25 more than the S&W site has them listed for. So, I guess it does depend on how bad you want it. Me, not that bad! Good luck in your decision!

Too much. Wait and find one for close to MSRP. Most are lower than that.

I tkink the prices are coming down. I walked in LGS last Thursday and he had two 40 cal shields. I offered $425.00 out the door. To my supprise he said deal. That's $403.00 plus tax and call in. What a deal. I think I had a great day.

$600 is way too high. You should be able to get one on GB for about that price.
Look at the "Shield in Stock" thread(s) on here, follow slickguns, etc. and you'll find one. Patience is a virtue.

$419.95 + $25.20 tax = $445.15 out-the-door at my LGS last Friday. I'd been on their waiting list for about a month, and they got in a large shipment. 
I don't know if they'd gotten completely through their backorder list or not, but they hadn't put ANY in the display case by the time I got there after the phone call.

It's not like I need it. I don't. I just wanted a new toy. I teach concealed carry and NRA classes and some students have brought them. They seem to shoot nice.

Trop Gun Shop in Elizabethtown, PA has been getting them in somewhat regularly.
Was in a shop the other day my uncle was giving me his old model 10 service pistol.three people came in and picked up shields while I was doing the paperwork asked if they had anymore so I bought one for $499.That was a better price than I would have found on gunbroker.

Plenty of people.
Just look at the crack smokers on GB that are paying outragous prices for everything else.
