I was at the range recently and another shooter had a nice 4506 he was putting through it's paces. We struck up a conversation on third gens as I was firing my 5906. I noticed he had a serrated trigger on the .45? To my recollection, I have never seen this before and I mentioned it to him. He told me it was this way when it bought it as a police trade in a few years ago.
Were there ever any serrated triggers made for these or was it most likely a custom job? It did have an extremely good feel to it while firing....

I just had a look at the section for the 4506 in the Standard Catalog of S&W. In the model description it mentions that the pistol came with a .260" serrated hammer, and a .304 SMOOTH trigger. I bought a new 645 that came with a smooth trigger, so I would assume that the serrated one was done post factory.
