Has anyone used the Slidefire stock on an SBR M&P15-22? I am debating on whether I should SBR my M&P15-22 or M&P15-22P.

Here are my options:

Cut the barrel on the rifle to 7.5" or 6"

Add stock to pistol

Install pistol upper on rifle lower

(Please leave out any legal comments. I am fully aware of the NFA regulations.)

Seems that it would only run better than a 16" barrel. The lighter the upper, the better the 22 works. Less mass, same energy, more recoil, better slidefire movement.

I have not tried this but I have heard very few success stories, the 22 does not have the recoil required to work the slidefire stock

Cut down the rifle. My 4.5" runs fine. From what I understand, you need to get a nicer trigger in there to get the slidefire to function correctly.

I forgot to note that I already have the Slidefire stock and that it works fine with the stock trigger in my rifle.

How much did it cost to get it cut? I am also considering selling the pistol for the going rate (~$900) and using the funds to SBR the rifle.

$50 to cut/thread/crown.

Money well spent. Shoots any kind of ammo, even subs.

4.5" with SWR Spectre II.

Mine works perfect. However, after some modifications. Mine also works with subs.

Did you cut the stock handguard or did you put something else on it? Is that SBR as fun as it looks? :D

Cut the stock hand guard. It will do until I replace it.

Its amazingly fun. Crazy quite, and still accurate. :)

Just takes time and a little money.

Looked into it. In CA, I would want to setup a trust, then tax stamp process, then move to trust.. blah blah just decided it was not worth the coin just because I want an SBR. So, I did the AR pistol which is essentially an SBR with no stock and 10x less hassle :)
