SBR options?

Guys,

Anyone seen any options for a SBR of the 15-22? Forgive me if this has been covered before, I tried a search but found nothing.

Smith is making a Pistol version of the 15-22 which is similar in length to the GSG5 PK version.

But be aware, that they are classified as pistols. Adding a stock or a fore grip would be a felony unless you have a SBR tax stamp.

Thanks Brett. Sorry, I should have mentioned that I wanted to go about this WITH a Tax Stamp.

The 15-22P barrel is too short for my liking.

Fill out your form 1 and wait a few months for your stamp then let someone chop it and recrown it and your golden.. stamp comes first.. then work...

Pistol upper on rifle lower with cutdown rifle handgaurd and Gemtech Tac 65. With two stamps of course

It would be a lot cheaper to just buy the rifle fill out a form 1 on the lower as a sbr and when your stamp comes back cut the barrel down and the handguard thread the barrel and id add a yhm phantom556 and you have what you want... over all your looking at $400 in tax stamps (a form 4 and a form 1) about 50 bucks in labor and a $400 can and whaaa laaa

You guys have a lot more disposable income than I! At least you can move the silencer from weapon to weapon.

I'd go with a "dedicated .22LR upper" receiver on a standard, registered AR15 SBR lower receiver and leave the M&P15-22 alone. This will let you run full caliber in a shorter barrel.

The upper is not the firearm, the lower is.

The upper doesn't have a serial number so there isn't anything to register.. the lower is what needs to be registered on a form1 as a sbr .. paper work is easy enough you will need two finger print cards, a proof you r legally here papercant remember what its called ,2 pics, the highest ranking officer in your areas sig. (Could be a sheriff or might be the chief of police) And 200 dollars.. all you need then is time.... to wait that is ... but please make sure it is legal in ur state before you even start

Good point, but that would ruin my "excuse" to buy the 15-22P.

Yeah. I've heard that before ... it's just SO retarded that I had to ask about this specific situation.
