I have a pretty good "scout scope," a Burris 2x-7x-32mm, on a custom mount on my Winchester 1892 in .357. Scout scopes are mounted forward and have long eye relief, usually 10" to 13" or so.
Would this scope work well on my new 15-22 rifle, or would I be better off finding myself a more traditional rimfire scope in the $100 to $150 range? I do most of my shooting between 50 and 75 yards, at various targets. I don't hunt.
I'm considering a Nikon PROSTAFF 3-9x40 Rimfire Matte BDC, which has a list price of about $150 and is not a scout scope, but it has some options the other scope doesn't have.
Comments? Suggestions? Anything else to consider?
Thanks!
