Very nice! Congrats! :)

Superb snub at a good price. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

Isn't that a 642? A 640 is .357 and a full lug. Just asking.

642 is an air weight with the aluminum frame.
640 is all stainless and used to be available in 38 special only and now is available only in 38/357. (I believe)

You are correct. Nice acquisition. I actually prefer the .38 Special vs. the .357 Magnum in such a small piece.

Congratulations and give a range report when you get a chance.

Regards,

Dave

Ok, cool. I stand corrected. It just looks identical to the 642's on the S&W website. Congrats on a good buy!

The 640 is definitely one of the best J-frames you can own.

Nice catch!

Anyone know where to get one of those cool little "under the counter" gun racks?

I've got three .38 Special 640s and they are great little carry guns. One must have come from a special run and it's built for +P+.

My M640's. The M640-3 now has a smooth grip like it's brothers.
