Scope Base for .500 S&W

Mounting a scope on my 500, This bad boy has some recoil, so I want to mount a good scope with a good base. I know they make several scope bases. I didnt really want to mount my Leupold scope on something cheap. Can anybody give me some advise on a base that is good quality?

If you've got the standard 8-3/8" model there are three that come to mind. Warne, Weigand and the TSOB mount by SSK Ind. The first two you can install yourself. The latter needs to have the gun sent to them because they add an additional screw. All three are quality made.

Yes, mine is a 8 3/8" barrel. I have had problems with previous high recoil guns with cheap bases as the screws works themselves loose. Thanks for your help.

I have the Weigand in SS and it is a beautifully machined piece...I can endorse it 100%

The Weigand with the magnum rings has worked great on my 500. No scope movement at all.

I ordered the same, just got it in the mail today. Yes.. I installed it and it is just like you stated. High quality, it should withstand the recoil just fine. Cant wait to get it out to the range ! Thanks for all of your help !

Personally, I wouldn't want a scope on my JRC 500 but, if I did I'd go with a Leupold.

I have a Burris steel mount and 2 steel rings on my 460 xvr. It stays put.
