I personally have a Barska 2X30 red dot, they're great for range and getting those evil squirrels. The reason i chose it, like Chattanooga said as a replacment for iron sights, im young but i have really bad eyes.
Also I chose it because 2x magnifies just enough for me to still shoot out towards 75-85 yrds. Now Im still thinking about getting a magnifier to put infront of my red dot for a little more yardage.
