Scope Mount and rings Question ?

I have finaly Decided on what i was buying For my Varmint/paper puncher it is a remington VTR in 223 .Now i dont know which way to go on the scope mounts and rings ! i was all ready to buy weaver type bases and Burris x-treme tactical rings but just for the info i went to Remington web site and they have a set of integral rings and base all in one i have never had the chance to handle the remington stuff but i like my burris set up on my bushmaster !! What does the pepole of this fine forum say any and all help is needed and appreciated

the classic method is to use whatever mount system that will put the scope as low to the rifle as possible.
mounts and bases should be steel .. not aluminum as the tacki cool mall ops seem to like
