After much debating I think I've narrowed my scope down to the Mueller APT 30mm 4.5-14x 40mm. It is long on the mp 15 22 at ~14 inches but Ive heard nothing but good reviews and I am not much of a red dot fan. maybe down the road I'll get a compact Primary Arms but theres no mas x4:(

Now I was wondering what scope mounts are out there for this particular setup for relatively cheap? say under $50 or so..

Could anyone post their current APT/ APV setups? I cant find many pics and would like to see how it runs together.

There are bunches of mounts under $50 at Midway. I have a pair of Leaper extra high quick release on my 15-22 holding a 6-18 Bushnell that I have used for silhouette shooting on a Ruger 77/22. They were under $20.

The dumbest thing to me is people putting $100+ rings on a non-match .22. I mean the stuff from Larue Tactical is nice, but $180???

I got the QR because it lets me easily switch between the scope and the Barska Electro Sight or iron sights.

I have a utg type 1inch riser(so my scope will clear the magpul flip sights) and $10 weaver 1 inch medium rings (pn-49046) I got from Walmart . Im using a nikko stirling 3-9x40 scope I got from lgs for about $85. Thats about as cheap as it gets depending on the scope you choose. And it works very well for me.:D

A one piece mount designed for an AR is worth considering. They are designed to keep the mount on the receiver while providing enough eye relief. With a 15-22, I think that's better than having one ring on the receiver and the other on a flexing plastic handguard. Though, there may be little or no noticeable effect. The Burris PEPR is excellent for around $70. AR-P.E.P.R. 1-Piece Extended Scope Mount Picatinny-Style Integral 30mm Rings Flattop AR-15 Matte . Primary Arms sells less impressive ones ranging from $30-$60. https://www.primaryarms.com/category_s/1676.htm

Good point, however both rings for my installation are on the receiver. Of course, in CT I have to have a pinned stock so I don't have to worry about eye relief with the stock collapsed. :)

I looked at the PEPR pretty hard but was reading some issues of it not mounting straight ( QD version ) so that had me a bit worried. they do seem like a good mount though so how does it run with your setup?

PEPR has worked perfectly on my rifles.

I'm not a fan of QD mounts, especially with budget mounts. If there is really a need for a QD mount then I would go with LaRue which is well beyond your project budget for this.

I have your scope and am using the Weaver SPR mount. I don't have pics ready, but here's the mount...and I'm perfectly happy with it. I originally looked at the PEPR, but I didn't want another set of rails on top of the scope. It has thumb-type nuts on the other side. Love the scope too...

Edit...it is a little more $$ than what you were looking for. I do have the rings for sale in the classified section here that I was using originally. If you're interested, they're great. I only switched to be able to have a QD mount. Here's what it looked like with them on:

Just got this "tutforce" 1 inch offset riser. Helps with less twisting of neck, and offset allows it to be closer to shooter less leaning forward. Also it's easier to get to charging handle.

Morning

I have the Burris AR-P.E.P.R. on every one of my scope equipped AR/M-4s including both the S&W 15-22 & CMMG dedicated 22 upper.

The Burris AR-P.E.P.R. is a great value for the money & so far everyone I have mounted has been extremely straight & tight mounting.

With the S&W 15-22 having a soft plastic top rail then using a one piece scope mount makes a lot of sense as it completely allows the scope to be mounted in a firm straight mounting & not relying on that soft upper rail to control ring alignment of separate ring mounts.
