Can I install a scope on my M&P 15 Sport without removing front site? Will there be a problem?

Yes, and No. Even if the front sight is in the field of view of the scope, the odds are, depending on the scope, you will not even be aware of the front sight. If you mount the scope to be a little higher above the rifle's bore than that of the iron sights, you will probably be more happy with the ease of sight alignment while using the scope. .....

The answer is yes because at a power setting above 2x the front sight disappears and is not seen when you look through the scope.
My AR 15 with a Nikon 2x7x32mm scope and front sight not seen

Here you go. Place an extended finger about 3-4" in front of your nose. Look across the street. Does your finger interfere? No. There is your answer. (if you want to argue, try either a pencil or something else thin. More realistic) Or stand a few feet in front of a chain link fence, and look at a building across the street. Same thing.

Its called Depth of Field.

I have the 3-9x Nikon P-223 with the P-223 mounts and it works great - including not seeing the front sight....which I have left installed.

OR

Same here, Nikon P-223 with P series mounts so i could keep factory mbus rear sight on. Just turned rear mount around.

The p series mounts will allow a little more flexability when mounting a scope as far as forward or backward for eye relief..

Sub 2 MOA at quick100 yard sight in.

I just purchased the P-223 3-9x40 but, was concerned the fixed front sight would interfere. If I'm reading the responses correctly, the front sight will not have to be removed in order to mount this scope. I am planning to use the Nikon P-series mount(s).

Correct... on 4x or higher, you will not see the front sight as the focal point of the scope is at a further distance than the front sight. The front sight will "ghost out".
