Stopped by my LGS again today to see if I would get lucky and find some 22LR for my 15-22.

I have been stopping in there on and off for quite some time and I always miss the shipments. You guys know how fast it sells out.
The store owner knows me well by now cause I always miss out and he knows it.
I walk in today and first thing he says "I have something for you". This made my day. He says "be right back".
He comes from the back carrying a plastic CCI ammo can. I say "what is my limit?" He says "1600 rounds if you want them".

So today I came home with 1600 rounds CCI mini mag $128.39 out the door.

Today I am a very happy shooter. :)

Thanks reading about how happy I am,just had to share.

Mixed emotions here. That's more than double what I paid as late as last September.

Obviously, based on stories we hear lately, he didn't gouge you like some others, and good to know there are still some LGS out there that care for their customers.

Sure glad I saw the handwriting on the wall and put 11,000 away last year.

Very good score, I recently got a purchase of 1600 rounds for 150, plus the shipping. That was definatelt\ly a good find. Ibelive ammo is starting to come back around. I am done purchaseing, as I have around 20,000 rounds of variouse calibers, and .22 being the one I shoot the most as of date, I have around 7000 rounds of it. My 12 year old son is just getting into shooting and loves the fact that ammo is plenty in our back yard.

I just picked the same ammo can up this morning from academy for 119.99+tax. So pretty much what you paid comes to just under $.08pr. Not bad for CCI mini mags!

Thanks for the comments and the likes.

I will be doing business with this LGS again for sure,it was very nice of him to set these aside for me.
He could have broke them down and sold them as 100 round boxes to maximize his profit but didn't.

If you compare this price to the price 1 year ago,it is more expensive.
If you compare to today's market price and availability,I feel like I received a very good price.
Since the shortage began the only 22 LR I have been able to come across i did not buy because of high price. Another LGS gets REM Golden bullets and repackages them in plastic baggies,200 rounds for $40.At local gun shows, once in a while I'll see a brick for $80.I will not buy these.

Overall I was very happy with this purchase. :)

Thanks

yeah I my local walmart had recieved 7 of those a week before the sandy hook tragedy and I was short on money at the time, well a week after SH they had 3 left and at that point it was when things were just starting to get crazy and I went and picked up two of them, $98 each, still have them. waiting for a local match to use them for the 15-22

i scored also yesterday at LGS......1 box of 50 Federal!!!!!! $3.99! had every other kind of ammo, HD and range out the butt, but only 1 box of .22!

Since Saturday I have walked into Walmart and bought 300 rnds of 9mm. I ended up selling 150 rnds to my buddy because it was steel cased stuff but still, it seems ammo is trickling back in.. I have not seen one trace of .22 though..

$129 is a good price, my wife and I found 500 round bricks for $40 Friday morning locally, but we were limited to one each.

They also had a lot of Remington Golden's for $24 a brick.

I really hope my LGS will save me some when they get a big shipment in, I go in there everyday after work and after Walmart (later in the day) every day. They see me, and say, "Looking for .22lr again eh?" I reply with a simple"Yep". They shake there head no, and I do a skim of the store for anything new, then head home empty handed. I've done this so much that is like a have to routine now. At least its a healthy routine?

I was told the dealer cost is $85 for those CCI ammo cans. I have not been able to take one home yet; just have to be in the right place at the right time.
