Scored a 15-22p today!!

The Magpul AFG is legal on the pistol. Thread recently with ATF letter stating the same. AFG is NOT the same as a VFG which is ATF regulated.

I have had more fun shooting mine over the last year than any other firearm I have ever owned. It was also cheap to shoot but that has changed in the last few months.

I just scored one myself. Didn't get it for the same great price as you guys did, but definitely not gun broker prices. Came with 2-25rd mags. My 3rd M&P in 2 months. I'm addicted!! Lol

I picked one on gunbroker a couple of months ago. Pistol 3 mags cheap red dot and cheap laser along with a pelican case for $650
It is definitely fun to shoot and the 22 goes fast

Last time we went to the range it got nicknamed the pea shooter but everybody liked shooting it. However loading the mags is no fun.

I saw one today at the gun show. A guy had it in his hand and was looking at it. If he would have put it down, I would have bought it. He asked me about it. My second sentence, I said " they don't make them anymore". His first sentence " You just talked me into buying it".:( I am kicking myself for being a nice guy! Oh well. The upside is that S&W now has a new member of their family! Karma Baby! It will come back around- hopefully!:)

I've been watching the prices of these on GB the last couple of months. They seem to fluctuate quite a bit, but the trend seems to be going up, while the prices of other stuff seems to be trending down.

I guess the increasing popularity of the rifle is driving up prices on the pistol.

Hrmmm, after looking at this.

.300 AAC pistol seems like it could be fun. But in the same sense it would be pointless along with the rest of them, lol

I bought this M&P 15-22P thanks to a forum member who posted it's availability at his local LGS. It was stinking new in the original box with 2 OEM 25 Round Mags. I have pictured it here with an OEM 10 Round Long that I converted to 25 using the Blue Anodized aluminum loading assist buttons from Raven Eye Custom. Total with shipping and Transfer Fee was $632.00. I'm happy with the price and that's what matters because It Ain't for Sale!

yahoo, got the five mags for my 15-22p,and 15-22 today, only took five weeks, the great price was worth the wait.

Picking one of these up tomorrow!! Price is kinda high (750) but I've been wanting one FOREVER, and this one is there for the taking so I have to buy it. Even if it stays a safe queen for a while, it will look good doing it.

one on the local forums but the asking price is $1k. way more than i'd ever pay for it.

you would think the BATFE would consider these SBR's and not pistols.im kind of surprised they dont but hey maybe they arent completely mad.

dang where are you guys getting these? i cant find them ANYWHERE!!!!! any way i can get some help here. cash in hand ready to buy.

thanks

Yeah I understand about NFA. It just seemed that S&W wouldn't want to discontinue a popular gun. Maybe it only became popular because it was discontinued.

Ironically, a Magul AFG is not considered a pistol grip, so many people put those on them.

One letter to one specific individual does not guarantee legality. The BATFE has changed their minds in the past.

GSG butted heads with the BATFE over the GSG5 Rifle with the mock "suppressor" because it was hollow, they had to recall and refit all of the rifles that were sold, with a solid faux suppressor because the BATFE deemed it could be turned into a working suppressor.

The quad rail on the 15-22P made it way too easy to make a "mistake" and just having a VFG and a 15-22P could be considered "intent". So, it was probably easier for them just to discontinue the model before they had to deal with the drama.

I bought mine from the LGS in 2010. They had two and the other one sat in their case for another year or so before it sold. Demand was not high at that time.

Mine shoots very well, but when I take my wife to the range all I get to do is reload magazines.
