Hey guys,

Is this from an early 50s 29? I want to find someone who needs it but I need to know what it's from first. I think I have it narrowed down to a war production one. Anyone give me some insight here?

Looks like a S&W screwdriver that used to come with every revolver in the 50s and 60s. They were for adjusting the sights. I see them on EBay selling for $80 or $90. I have several that I acquired over the years.

The sight screwdriver you have pictured was furnished with the 44 Magnum beginning with the introduction of the model in January 1956. The handle is made of aluminum and replaced the handle made of steel and finished in black oxide. This type of screwdriver was also furnished with other target sighted revolvers until about 1960.

The screwdriver was part of the S&W cleaning kit with a cleaning rod and bronze brush in a sealed plastic pack supplied with adjustable sight models. Most of the ones I've seen have a handle with flutes. Your's is likely an earlier version. At some time, S&W stopped providing these cleaning kits and now, these accessories have sky rocketed in price, with unopened plastic packs being the most desired and expensive.
