Loving the new gun and slowly getting used to that loooong trigger pull.

Here's the question.... A week or so ago, after 300-400 problem free rounds through it the slide failed to lack back after emptying the mag.

Put another 100 rounds through it yesterday and it failed to lock back after every mag. I've cleaned and lubed the gun both right out of the box and after a couple hundred rounds but nothing has improved since.

Big deal? No big deal? What do you suggest?

Thanks

Possible causes:
Wimp ammo
Wimp grip
Dirty magazines
Improper (too much) lube
A bad magazine

Well the ammo, the grip and magazines are identical to when the gun was just out of the box last month. No changes and all of the mags are doing the same thing. The only lube used was on the 4 locations indicated in the owners manual. They were rubbed lighly with a swab that had a couple drops of lube on it.

What's the best way to clean the magazines?

What's the best way to clean the magazines?

Use a pen tip, small punch, screwdriver, etc. to press the tab in on the bottom of magazine. While pressing tab, slide the base off. Use caution to make sure the spring doesn't pop out uncontrolled. Once base is off, remove spring, the follower should be attached to the spring and come out with it.

I use a cleaning patch with CLP to wipe out the crud from mag walls and on the follower. Then wipe everything dry with a clean dry patch. For proper operation, the magazine should not be lubricated so be thorough with wiping it dry.

Reassemble.

A YouTube search for magazine dis/assembly & cleaning would probably be useful for you.

Hope this helps.

NO more rounds than you have put through it unless you did something else there is no way the mag should be dirty, for sure not enough to cause a problem.
So the only problem you are having is after the slide locking back as it should for the first 400 rounds now it will not with either mag ?
If it is doing it with both mags then it is either the gun or you.
Make sure your thumb is not riding the slide lock white shooting.
Are you using reloads ? if so try some factory ammo.
Just to rule out everything have some else shoot it.
,
Just got mine out & emptied a mag to double check this.
Put the empty mag in & pull the slide back with out toughing the slide lock & see if it locks back.
If it does the part is working as it should.

Let another experienced shooter test drive it.

If the problem does not exhibit it's self with them, then it's "Pilot Error" on your part.
