165 and/or 180 gr ammo works well. get a box of each to see which one runs the best in your gun.

I've put almost everything through mine, no problems at all. Even the cheap cheap range ammo I find online work great (reloads and all)

Mine doesn't like Fiocci 170 gr very well. The slide stops 1/2" shy, the cartridge seems to hang up. I push the slide home with my thumb and it fires and ejects just fine.
It works flawless with other brands of ammo hat I've tried.

Have you measured case dia for bulging?

It's new ammo. The spent casings look OK. I cleaned and lubed, polished the ramp with a little 4/0 steel wool, no difference. Only does it with the Fiocci.

New ammo does not matter. There can be differences in case dia from one maker to another. Just wondering if you measured jamming ammo with a caliper. This bulging is before fired.

my SDVE .40 jams with every ammo except the remington hollow points. i just bought 2 boxes of hornaday home defense rounds and they won't load into the gun.

I would make the call about sending the gun in. Mine eats any and everything.

Sound like the chamber has a very tight tolerance. I can understand why the Hornady won't chamber in your gun ragedpanda cause they were sticking in my Sig P250 mag but chambers fine. I measured the diameter and compared it to my other brands. The Hornady is fatter.

165s is my fav loads. I carry Hornady CD 165 FTXs in mine. I think my mag had a burr because it cleared up.

SD 40VE All Shooter

No problems so far with this stuff: Winchester white box, cor-bon, remmington, black hills, hornady, blazer, I don't shoot steel case thru any of my pistols!

I will run steel ammo thru all my guns to make sure it eats it. You never know what ammo you will HAVE to use some day.

Just got mine, my girl and I just got back from putting 200 down the range. Reloads of 165gr jhp, my local guy was out of fmj.
Brass and steel. Gun ate it all and asked for more. At the end, my girl was tired and limp wristed 2 shots and it ftl. I put the last mag through, no issues.
I say let it eat everything it can. Very pleased first time out.

165's and 180's have shot equally well in mine.
The only problem I have had is a couple light primer strikes with Sellier & Bellot fmj 180's. All other brands and weights have been flawless in near 1000 rounds.

One great big festering neon distraction
