Looks like 28 cents which is more than some local prices for FMJ name-brand rounds. Although FMJ isn't what it implies, it does contain most of the lead, important in an indoor range.

I'm assuming 9mm pricing here.

I shoot mostly lead reloads through my SD40VE, other then making it harder to clean it shoots just fine.

im shooting .40

I did a Google search and found 1000 round .40 FMJ packages for less, including shipping, and no local sales tax.

I think you can find better prices if you can afford to wait a couple of days for shipping.

I guess the main thing for me is to avoid lead dust. I admit that I put a lot of lead through my .22 rifles when I was a kid, but there weren't many other options and no ranges, all outside shooting in those days.

If you're looking for re-man you might take a look at Ammunition Online at Factory Direct Prices | Freedom Munitions | Handgun Ammo & Rifle Ammo. They are having a sale right now on pistol ammo. I've shot their 9mm with no issues but I won't buy/use the 45 auto any more; seemed loaded pretty hot for a standard 45 load IMO.

+1 on Freedom Munitions. Their retail store is about a 10 min. ride away from my jobsite.
They are my primary ammo supplier, no issues at all with their 9mm and .40S&W weather it's remanufactured or new.
If you're a new customer you'll get free shipping on your first order.

The biggest problem people have with lead bullets is lead left in the barrel. As I understand it, that usually results from the bullet not fitting tight enough or not using the proper lube. I shoot almost nothing but my own lead reloads and cast my own bullets. My bullets are sized .358 for my SD9VE - never had a leading issue. Te advantage is that lead won't wear your barrel as fast as copper and lead can be pushed fast with less pressure. ALL that said, I know nothing of the ammo you mention in your OP.

I've seen that ammo at my local Dick's, but the local ranges prohibit open lead - you have to use FMJ (TMJ, MC are other FMJ abbreviations) or JHP.

We did get out a box of the 9mm the first time they came to the store, and opened it up. Really unpredictable as to brass type / condition. I was not impressed, and could equal the price with the Remington UMC 250 round yellow bulk box at WalMart (yeah, I know, they don't have it always on the shelf).

only ammo restrictions at the range i was at today is shotgun, slug or buck shot only

Hard as it may be to believe the indoor range I use will ONLY ALLOW LEAD: no FMJ and no magnum loads allowed.

p.s. But you can shoot 22lr in pistols and rifles all day (& night!) long, 365 days a year!

They are mining the lead and making it easier to collect and sell.
