SD40VE any good?

I purchased a SD9VE recently and I believe it is the best bang for the buck semi auto extant. The only thing I couldn't live with on my pistol was the rotten trigger. Like many on the forum I polished the feed ramp and went with the apex spring kit. Also polished a couple surfaces per the instructions in the apex video. Made a world of difference. If you have small hands the factory grip is near perfect although folks with larger mitts seem to like the ergos as well. With my pistol at least I have found the elevation POI to be very close at 50 feet with various types of ammo. A real plus when dealing with windage only adjustable sights. My 9mm feeds anything I have tried flawlessly including cast bullet loads. I'm sure you will be pleased with the 40 S&W version....

I have one, purchased a long time ago, but not yet fired (shame on me :)) I don't know about the bad reviews, but I know that Bud's reviews it at close to five stars, and that's with a whole bunch of customer reviews. (Higher rated than some of the Colt 1911's. ) My Sigma 9 works great, so I'm guessing the SD40ve will too. Neither one of them is a CZ 75, but that's not what you're paying for.

If it were me, though, I'd pay another 30 bucks for a brand new one from Bud's. Or some such place.

SD40ve

I have recently puchased a New SD40ve from a friend who is an FFL.
I paid less than $300. for the piece! I am very pleased with the performance and the way it shoots.
I am 83 years old and have no problem with the recoil. It is "Snappy" but still quite manageable.
I shoot it at the local club and indoor range. I wear a leather glove onmy shooting hand to help me with the
long trigger pull. I have shot over 100 rds so far...and I am glad I settled for this Auto-loader.

I say, buy the gun and the ammo, you are going to like the way it shoots.

I recently installed an Apex trigger kit and I love it. Can't really tell that it made the trigger any lighter, but sure made it smoother. Had mine about a year and a half and no issues. Pull the trigger, it fires, ejects the spent cartridge and reloads the next one. What's not to like?

Recently picked up an used one. calloway trigger spring kit lowering the pull down to about 5lbs from the 12 it used to be (thanks MA laws). Cleaned it out and lubricated it on the suggested spots. Finally took it to the range yesterday and it shot perfect every time. We only put 55 rounds through it but I am happy to say that it had no failures to feed or fire. In a few days I will be getting the 22lbs stainless steel guide rod and the better pull down lever from calloway in the mail.

Very happy to have this gun.
