SD9 ACCURACY???

The accuracy thing cracks me up sometimes with people claiming gun X shoots low and left or high and right. I promise if if bolt that gun to a bench it will be very accurate as long as the barrel is straight. Most claims of a gun not being accurate are due to poor trigger control/poor grip or not a clear understanding of how the sights are set up.

I got a SD40 for my wife and M&P40 for myself. I shot mine first from about 25yrd and had good grouping just a little down to the left. Then I shot the SD and was way off to the right, from same distance and same hold. In another thread I posted it was stated it was probably due to the trigger pull being so different the M&P and the distance I was shooting from. Now that I have found this wonderful place, I plan on using what I have learned this weekend and go shoot again. I will be posting pics and report after, now that I have been schooled a little. Still love the gun and glad I bought it, I just need to learn how to shoot.

Out of the box...

At 5 yards I can hit the same holes almost over and over again.

At 7 yards I can hit the same spot most of the time.

At 10 yards I hit dead center with a tight grouping <1in

At 15 yards still hitting dead center with tight grouping 1 - 3in.

At 20 yards hitting a little low (<1in) with tight grouping 1 - 5in.

At 25 yards hitting lower (2 - 3in) with decent grouping

I blame some of the low shots on me anticipating recoil. Although I've almost fully fixed my own error, it shows more at longer distances.

I'm using 9mm 115gr federal classic rounds.
