My SCSW 3rd Edition, published in 2006, does not list the Model SD9 or later SD models. Can anyone tell me the production year range for the SD9? Even an approximation would help me out. :)

I am assuming (from it not being listed in the SCSW 3rd Edition) that the SD9 post-dated the Federal AWB sunset (2004) and, therefore, would not have been offered from the factory with 10-round magazines standard unless it was to be offered in moonbat states (like MA) that adopted and extended the Federal AWB.

The SD9 is not on our infamous MA EOPS list. The SD9VE, however, *is* on the current MA EOPS list. The MA EOPS list became law back in 1998 and once a gun is on the list it is normally there permanently. Earlier Sigma versions are on the list. I have to assume from all this that S&W did not wish to bother or pay the fees associated with putting the SD9 on the MA EOPS list. :o

Question: Can anyone tell me for certain: Did S&W ever ship or sell the Model SD9 anywhere with 10-round factory original magazines?

Or put another way, did S&W ever even make 10-round magazines specifically for the SD-series before the Models SD9VE and SD40VE came out?[/QUOTE]

Thanks for any and all help! :)

I have the SD9 and it came with a 10 round mag.

Not really sure but I think the date is somewhere around 2010. The SD9 replaced the Sigma but when it became to close of a comparison to the MP they made it into the VE by taking some of the more costly parts off it and therefore able to sell it at a lower price.

From a web search the SD9VE was introduced June 2012.

Thanks very much for the reply! :) I find it very interesting that it was offered for sale in NY (with 10-round magazines) but not in Massachusetts, presumably because of our MA EOPS list and associated costs & delays getting the gun to market.

Anyway, that's exactly what I wanted/needed to know. :) I'm not at all sure that I'd be able to import a complete used SD9 (non-VE) into Massachusetts (or find one already in state)... but, at a minimum, I may try to buy a decent condition used SD9 slide for my current SD9VE. :o
