SD9 video, "NO PROBLEM"

the 9 is nice very controllable but I prefer the 40 I personally shot a 9 at an empty keg(with lots of holes in it)yrs ago and they bounced off ive been a 40 cal or larger guy since just my opinion

Did you go back and try it with the .40? One of the digs against the 9 has been over penetration?

I agree. I have put 9mm rounds through a steel 55gal drum with exits on the opposite side. The FBI has a real good comparison study.

I like the 40SW but sold it because I considered the price for ammo to be too high. I can pick up cheap 9mm ammo for under ten bucks a box. I like to shoot at least two boxes per week, and more if I can sneak a purchase of a few extra boxes under my spouse's radar. I originally bought the 40 for knock down power in home defense, and the LESS likelihood of over penetration that I would get from the 9mm. Ideally, I think I would prefer the 45acp for home defense, but the 9mm is a good plinking pistol.

I have a shotgun, but would rather not make a mess of my home if I have other avenues of defense. My carbine is good enough for a siege from the exterior. I still prefer my little LCP for close up fighting, and a Kbar for intimate defense. No flashlights for me. I like the dark. I know my house better than an intruder, and I seem to be able to see pretty good in the dark, considering my aging eyesight. I guess the jungles of Nam gave me a pretty good instinct for stealth. ;)

That was a good video to at least get people over the fear of the heavy trigger. A capable shooter is capable regardless of pull weight.

My neighbor relies on his samurai sword for home defense. I on the other hand keep a package of tools nearby (OC, ASP, Moss 590, M&P, Rottweiler, etc.). Maybe I should add my M9 bayonet. :)
