Hi everyone, new to the forum. I recently bought a new sd9ve and shot about 75 rounds of bazer brass and winchester target loads with no issues. Yesterday i went out to shoot using the same ammo and had FTF problems on both mags. I would clear the jam and fire maybe one or two rounds and it would jam again. The gun is clean and lubed, and i had a tight grip to make sure i was not limp wristing. I have taken it apart numerous times and do not see anything noticeable. Any ideas what might be wrong?
Thanks,
Clint

With my SD40VE, I have rarely seen an FTF shooting WWB FMJ. When it happens, it's as if the slide hasn't fully returned to battery. At that point, I can typically tap the back of the slide and it will fully seat, at which point the gun is ready to fire. I noted this more when the gun was new. Also, some brands of ammo seemed to cause it more. Many suggested polishing the feed ramp and there are numerous YouTube vids on how to do so. It never was bad enough for me to feel the need to do so. I just polished with more ammo [emoji1]

I've attributed the cause to a combination of sporadic weaker loads and occasional loosening of the grip. I'd like to think my grip is rock solid but, if I'm being realistic, I have to admit that, once or twice during a range session, I'm probably doing something wrong/different with how I hold the gun. We are not machines. If our grips were perfect 100% of the time, out shot groups could be covered by a dime.

In your case, I'd recommend polishing that feed ramp, either as per a video, or with more brass.

Thanks for the help. I did a polish and shot 100 rounds of the same ammo through with no problems. Its hard to believe a little polish of the feed ramp would make that big a difference. Thanks again for your reply and help.

I've ran thousands of new and reloaded Blazer Brass through my SD9VE and have found it to be the most reliable "work horse" I own. I can't recall a single fail to feed, fire, or eject. With that said, my feed ramp is polished. Hopefully the fluff & buff you did solves your problem.
