I found one as a pawn rescue, and the price was right to satiate my curiousity. Trigger was not nearly as atrocious as my former Sigma, LOL.
In fact, I quickly realized that if you treat it like a DA revolver, it's not much of a handicap. Mind you, I had my Glocks with me to A-B it well, LOL. I was shocked at what a champ the 'value-priced' SD was. My groups were only about an inch larger than my G17!

Going home, I called a shooting buddy and told him of my astonishment. Subject quickly turned to the trigger, and he told me that the Apex company recently escaped Kali, and relocated here in town. I googled, and sure as heck, they were but minutes away.

Long and short, they don't have a retail center on - site. I had to buy what I wanted, the full replacement trigger with springs, and pay with a card. Then, the nice lady scheduled me for a courtesty install the following morning at 10am. I showed up, and was greeted by the same gent that does all of their YouTube install vids for them.

Just 12mins later, I was dry-firing the new innards at his prompting. Took it from like 8.8 lbs down to just over 5..but The FEEL. I would have to say even nicer than a stock GLock. Going to try for the range again within a couple of days.

Very nice. I'm quite fond of my SW40VE (last gen .40cal variant) despite the trigger, although I would consider upgrading to an Apex Trigger if I lived nearby them, could have them install it for me, and could confirm that it doesn't have issues with full-power loads. (I've heard that Apex Triggers don't reliably reset with 180gr loads.)

I would guess that I have shot more 180gr loads in my SW40VE (with the Apex trigger) than all other bullet weights combined...? That would include 140, 155, 165 & 200gr.

Nary a reset problem in my experience.

Cheers!

12 minutes to install an Apex trigger kit?? It took me like 3 days of cussing to get mine done… Of course never done one before and will never do one again. Aside of that, it does make quite a difference!

I had the APEX trigger and spring kit in my SD9. I removed them and installed the Galloway Boudica carbon fiber trigger and a Wesbaun spring kit.
That was the BEST thing I have done to my SD9.

I like my SW40ve. I installed the Apex trigger (trigger only, not the kit) and it seemed to shorten the pull. Feels much better to me and have had no problems with it, 180g included.

Why did you change the spring kit?

A friend had the same gun, SD9, with the Wesbaun spring kit. His trigger pull was 4.75 lbs., very crisp, and altogether so much better than the APEX spring kit. With the Galloway Boudica trigger, it's a SERIOUS tack driver! This trigger and spring kit is 10X better than ANYTHING APEX!
