I looked at the second video, and it all looks normal to me.

Tell your girlfriend not to press things on a gun, if she doesn't know what they are or will do...some things may not be harmless!

When you have your slide off the guide rod is resting against your barrel lug. When your slide is on the frame the guide rod is resting against the two little plastic pieces at the rear of the recoil spring channel right in front of the take down lever. It ends up pushing the guide rod forward slightly.
