I bought a 3 inch s&w 625 and want to buy sdm gold bead front sight there are several sizes avalable what would you recomend for my revolver thanks

What height is your front sight?

Pick the one closest. If it's not exactly the same height determine if you have enough rear sight adjustment for it. If not then you'll need to change to a different rear blade height for it to work.

Take your front site out of the base and take a ruler and measure from the top edge to the bottom edge. Mine all measure 1/4" and that's what I buy. The gold or brass bead look the coolest on the gun, especially the 3" bbl. When shooting, my old eyes can't pick up the gold color against the target. I use a red fiber optic and place it right in the center of the bullseye. Don't care for the green ones, shot bullseye for years and got used to a red dot. The red shows up better against the black bullseye. Hope this helps, Larry

I'd recommend you beg, borrow or steal a dial or digital caliper (if you don't have one) so you can measure your front and rear blades.

With a gold bead front you definitely want a front sight height that will let you use a .160 rear blade.

Why? because the .160 rear has the deepest notch and the gold will sit in the notch better. Shorter blades have shorter notches and can give a funny sight picture "cutting off" the bottom of the gold dot or letting the front sight sit too high (top of front sight not aligned with the top of the rear) to not cut it off.

Educated guess is a .300 front and a .160 rear but you should measure what you have and take into consideration where in its' range of adjustment the rear sight is.
