I think that I'm going to try the reaming with a drill route.
I wouldn't recommend a drill. I would suggest a carbide end mill such as McMaster-Carr . High speed steel will NOT cut it and a drill will just break off.
Have you drilled your SHB? I'm just curious how it turned out. I'm in the same boat. I have the older 1/16 plunger and searched everywhere for the 1/8 SHB.
Any idea how often these come in stock? I am in dire need of one to fit my old frame. I dont have the thumb safety, only the internal safety that I removed. I need the new 1/8" block, but cant find them...any ideas?
I'm curious about those who switched out sear blocks from 1/16" diameter hole to 1/8" hole- these springs use plungers, and I'd expect at least one person to post a "Doh! I had everything I needed except a new plunger for the larger spring!"

No I haven't. Reason being is that I see them for sale, although sold out. If I can get a correct one without altering my old one I will. If I ream mine out and it doesn't work, I'm screwed.
