Sear block!!!!!

I have the same problem as gunnut and no one has any Sears in stock that I can find, any recommendations?

Speed Shooters Specialties has what you need... even though it says "with ILS" it doesn't include, only the provision (the round hole) where you could put ILS in in you wanted to. Or an Apex RAM, for that matter - that's why I bought it :).

Sear Housing Block Assembly with internal lock & mag safety [1766] - $24.75 : Welcome to Speed Shooter Specialties

If you don't want the Mag Safety, pick up a Mag Safety Deactivation Spring at the same time..., you can pop the lever/spring out and use this spring in it's place.

Mag Safety Deactivation Spring [1787] - $4.00 : Welcome to Speed Shooter Specialties

This is assuming you have an older M&P, since you referred to the OP's issue with a 1/16" Sear spring/plunger.

Any idea how often these come in stock? I am in dire need of one to fit my old frame. I dont have the thumb safety, only the internal safety that I removed. I need the new 1/8" block, but cant find them...any ideas?

Be very careful. The block is very hard and you will want to use a sturdy drill press. Be sure you note the angle of the hole before you try to widen it. The hole goes down at an angle. Don't be a dummy and try it with a hand drill:

Fortunately, I was able to get a wide hole sear block from Brownells, but don't assume they will sell you the new version, apparently it is random as to whether you get a new version or an old version of M&P parts depending on whatever they have in stock.

Have you drilled your SHB? I'm just curious how it turned out. I'm in the same boat. I have the older 1/16 plunger and searched everywhere for the 1/8 SHB.

I'm curious about those who switched out sear blocks from 1/16" diameter hole to 1/8" hole- these springs use plungers, and I'd expect at least one person to post a "Doh! I had everything I needed except a new plunger for the larger spring!"

What gives?

No I haven't. Reason being is that I see them for sale, although sold out. If I can get a correct one without altering my old one I will. If I ream mine out and it doesn't work, I'm screwed.

Put one on backorder now. It took about 6 weeks for mine to come in from Midway, although it came with the mag and thumb safety. Both are easy to remove thankfully. It did come with the larger 1/8" plunger and spring. YMMV

The hole in the 1/16 size SHB is only big enough for that size only. I just got the updated SHB and there is no way the 1/8 plunger would have fit in the 1/16 hole.

I was just about to take my old one to my gunsmith to see if he could drill mine out and finally found a new one from G&R Tactical. It even came with a Performance Center Sear. I was checking there page daily and lucked out last Friday. I just got it in the mail yesterday and took it apart to confirm it had the 1/8 plunger size and it did.
Good luck with finding one.
