How many pounds does the sear spring weigh on 5900/4000?
Need to find a lighter one but have no clue how much the stock is.

I've never changed a sear spring, don't recall ever seeing different weights listed. For a lighter trigger I've changed the hammer spring which is usually 22# factory and I use the 17# in my guns with good results. There is also the trigger return spring that requires a complete strip of the frame to install, I've used the 4# there.

The gun is SA, so I can't see why the hammer spring would do any difference.
Already have a lighter return spring.
Aim is around 2lb SA pull (for IPSC). Bending the sear spring will give that but the sear will have a play that sometimes make the hammer stick. A lighter sear spring would do the trick.

2lb is nothing for the inexperienced to be trying to achieve. That is unless you want the ATF to be knocking on your door looking for your full auto.

Why would they? Basicly all Open guns are below 2lb and many Standard-div (Limited) are around 2lb.
You can buy a new 2011 with a 2lb trigger out of the box.

Yes, we're talking about something more than bending a spring, that's why I'm looking for a lighter one. =)

The S&W third generation series is not the same thing as tuning a 1911/2011. I wouldn't mess with the sear spring, it's not the way to go. The lighter hammer spring puts less tension on the hammer gainest the sear causing the lighter pull. Also you'll find the the pivot triggers of the S&Ws' will feel lighter than the draw triggers of the 1911/2011. My 2011 measures 2.5# and all my SA PC guns run 3-3.5# and they feel just the same. The main way they get those super light triggers is the use of lightweight componts, But I haven't seen any titanium hammers/sears/firing pins and such for the S&Ws'.
