Trying to place the pictured gun? Seems to be a pre MDL 10 -?
Last Pat. date is Dec 29,14
# is 689907 -- all numbers match, even though she is a bit challenged finish wise, she shoots just fine
Caliber is 38 S&W - Ring would appear to be original Which also has me stumped? THANKS for any info provided.
The SD MYRES holster is a perfect fit- vintage?? :

The 4-inch barrel and swivel, in conjunction with the .38 S&W British Service caliber, and that serial number, makes this very likely an M&P from the 1940/41 South African contract.

One picture is not enough; are there any non-factory marks on the upper backstrap or elsewhere? Not all made it to SA, so British-marked as well as unmarked specimen are known.

A closeup of any marks or stamping on the back of the holster will help define the era of manufacture. From what I can see, a Threepersons, contemporary to the revolver, so late 40s.

Very nice package J.R. ! I don’t have anything to add on the revolver, but the nice Myres you show is referred to as a pistol scabbard in the old Myres catalogue. It is not a “Threepersons”. It looks to have the relief in front for adjustable sights.
Again nice package, I like them both!
