There was a post on here giving specifics on how to secure a safe to the floor a year or so ago. I've done a search but cannot locate it. In fact, I think I saved that thread but it is not on my personal page. It had a lot of specific tips such as what kinds of bolts to use, how to secure in cement and how to secure through a wood floor to the crawl space underneath. Would you tell me how to secure a 60" x 30" x 30" to both a cement floor and to a wood floor with a crawl space underneath. This safe does not have pre-drilled holes.

The safe I used to have was not fire proof or real heavy. it did have dogs on the door and 4 bolts that moved with the lock. I got it used for $250.

I drilled a 13/32 hole in each corner. Then put the safe in placed and continued the hole thru the floor. Then I put a 3/8 bolt with washers thru with the head up and the threads down thru the floor. After tightening them I screwed up the threads just a little so you would have to have a wrench on the head (inside the safe) to unscrew it.

I also put all my extra casting lead on the bottom with a sheet of plywood over it to give it that safe feel.

I too drilled 3/8" holes down into the concrete. I filled the holes with a two part, (quick set) epoxy rated at 4,000 lbs. Then I torqued 3/8 by 5' lag bolt/screws into the unset epoxy. Once the epoxy set they are there for the long haul. Hope I never have to move the damn thing. (o;

For the concrete you can get 3/8 or bigger drop-in anchor's you will need a commercial type hammer drill . You will need to drill the floor of the safe with a 3/8 drill and the concrete with a 1/2" drill set the anchor's with the set tool move the safe back into position and bolt it down. I mounted my safe to a wood floor by drilling the floor of the safe with a 3/8 drill bit then drilled the wood floor with a 1/4" drill and used 3/8 wood lag screw's and it is very solid!!!!!!

1/2 X 3"inch concrete anchor's 4. One in each corner But that is how a Liberty comes now. I use the 3/8 lag screws that Liberty uses to screw them to the pallett on wood floors. On special request I will bolt it down but in most cases it is a waste of time unless you put a large plate under the floor. You should not need any special bits to drill thru the bottom of a safe.

If you put it on concrete try to keep an air space under it.

I installed some 2" stainless steel pipe couplings over 3/4" stainless steel concrete anchors. The bolts are long enough that I put a nut and washer, upside-down, to support the safe, keep it level, and keep it from the concrete. I then put the couplings over the bolts and they are just loose enough that if one were to try and cut through with a reciprocating saw, they would move with the blade, making it very tough to cut through the bolts and couplings at the sane time. (Plus the thickness of all of the metal x four.)
It's bolted to my garage floor and I don't think that it's going anywhere.....even if a car were used to pull on it.
