Sedgley Sporterized '03 Springfield Chambered in 257 Roberts Improved (Ackley)
Description:
This is an exceptional rifle in a very uncommon chambering. The bluing on this piece appears to be Carbonia Blue and is really beautiful.
The Monte Carlo style walnut stock has a beautifuly executed cheek rest which mirrors the grain; wrap around checkering on the fore end; and has what appers to be an ebony fore end cap. There is a small check in the end cap on the right side which appears in photo #5. While this fine rifle has seen field use the checkering is crisp, clean and intact and the wood and metal are in great shape although there are a few blemishes on the barrel.
The included Noske 3x scope has crip clear glass, a tapered post and is secured in, I've been told, a Noskie mount though the mount is, as far as I can tell, unmarked. The mount was likely a factory installation.
This is a beautiful rife with wood, optic, and metal in great condition; is mechanically sound and the bore is excellent.
Buyer pays actual shipping and insurance costs.
Rifle will ship in a plastic hard sided gun case inside a cardboard rifle shipping box with packing.
