Seecamp .25acp

I bought this original Seecamp .25 from a local shop today. It had been sitting there for a week or two, but I really wasn't interested. After a little research, I decided to pick it up. Cost was $550 OTD. Price seemed a little high, but this is an original marked "restricted", it had all the paperwork & box, extra unused mag & grips, and 2 unused recoil springs. The gun is in used but not abused condition.

The .25 doesn't show on Seecamps website, so I'm assuming they've stopped making them for now? And extra .25 mags also seem unobtanium.

Based on the serial number, does anyone know when it was made? And I'm a little confused what the "restricted edition" means?

That’s an early one, but no idea on date. Kind of rare I think. I knew a guy who had one back in the early 80’s.


About two years ago I saw all three, I think 25,32,380 in a gunshop here in NC. New ones.

Now I don’t see the 25 offered on Seecamps website.I thought it was reintroduced.

I have a 32 and a 380.

I've been "on the scout" for a .32 for a while. From what I've seen& looked at,with all the extras you "snuck up" on that one!

I believe the Seecamp .25 was replaced in production by the .32...probably because sales for the .25 likely cratered when you could buy the .32 in the same size pistol.

I used to have a .32...nice pistol and pretty much owned its market for some time before Beretta and maybe a few others came out with small .32 and .380 pistols.

The Seecamp .32 was unusual in another way...it was designed to be used with the Winchester Silvertip and other rounds might be problematic due to that. You would think they would want it compatible with any .32 ACP round.

I had a Seecamp .25 for a few years back in the early 80s.My regular carry gun for a while. Got tired of the weight, no sights, chronographed velocities were a bit lower than other .25s due to the short barrel. Replaced it with a Beretta 950 and never looked back.

Smaller but heavier than my .32.

A couple of carry option. Not that I'd probably ever carry it. Part of the reason for the purchase is I already had ammo, but no .25's to shoot it.

That's a really good price on a Milford .25 in good condition with all the goodies.

With a three digit serial number and Milford production, that is likely one of the handmade guns. My son has a Southwick and I have a Milford, both .32 a.c.p.’s. You will love that thing. We both use this type of holster.

Ludwig and his son who were making and assembling them and a one and only distributor who handled the pistol sales to the outside market.

Why they went that route , who knows..

Those 25's marked 'Restricted Edition' were a group of 200 of the 25's that the Seecamps sold or gave separetely to friends, family or current customers.

Some collectors say there was a clause in that Sole Distributorship contract that allowed for that. Some say not.
I don't know one way or the other.
Supposedly the Seecamp Co won't say one way or the other about a contract clause but does say that 200 were marked and were sold/given by Seecamp to friends/family/customers.

The Seecamp DAO mouse gun(s) are design built on the concept of the CZ36 and CZ45 25acp DAO pistols.

One source I found on the net said it was the first 200, but my serial number would prove otherwise.

I've got a few different makes of .25 acp headed my way to test in the gun. And I was going to chrono them to see which had the highest velocity in case I ever want to pocket carry this thing. Penetration is all I could hope for with this. All the HP's I've seen tested in .25 acp fail to expand and penetrate.

Mine has the single recoil spring, but I see LWS' website shows a 2 spring system. I'm wondering if I should order that for mine?
