:) Through the Forum, I have Found a New Home for Bucky in Anderson, SC. Thank you to everyone for your assistance. :)

I have a 65#, 1 year old mixed breed Yellow Lab that has to find a new home. He is neutered, excellent health with no medical problems, gets along great with children and other dogs. He walked into our front yard as a starving, scraggly, skin parasites, both eyes with infections, weighing 19#, and all bones in mid-April.

The problem is he is too much dog for my wife to handle. I have very few problems with him, walks, outdoor bathroom trips, rides in the truck -- he is just a great dog. I really hear about her problems if I am away from the house for more than 5 or 6 hours. I need to find a new home for him, and we live near Augusta, GA. He lives in the house, totally toilet trained / house broken. He likes the outside during the day, but he is within 4 feet of us all night long because he "needs" his people.

I have been handed an ultimatum to find a new home for him, or I have to take him to the dog pound. Tuesday, 2/9, my Veterinarian told me that thousands of medium to large size dogs are killed every year at the local animal shelter because there is no one to take them.

If you want a new friend at your house, please send me a PM or email through the Forum. I just don't want him to be shelter killed. She WMBO has spoken and there is no appeal process. This my second week of searching for a new home for him. The dog knows there is stress in the house. I get a joyous greeting every time I come home -- from the dog.

I wish I could help, but I'm in Texas, & really can't have pets in my situation. I wish you the best of luck in finding a good home for him!

@ Engineer,

I hate to hear of your situation. How old do you estimate your pet to be? Can you guess at what the other breeds might be that he's mixed with? I am in NJ, but if push came to shove, and no one else closer steps forward, my family will try to assist you. I hate to see a good animal put down needlessly!

Can you provide a full face picture of the pup? May I ask exactly what prompted your wife's ultimatum? Also, what types of dogs has he been around?

Ed

Engineer1911, I wish I could help but I have 3 now. Someone dumped one on the road near me and we took him in. He turned out to be a great dog! Why do people just dump or let dogs go? I will ask around for you.
