I am acquiring a bunch of the Norma 9mm 65gr frangible bullets for a stage of an indoor pistol match that mandates the use of frangible bullets. Because I could be as little as 6 weeks post-op from back surgery, I'm using my 380 instead of a 9mm Luger in order to minimize back rock from recoil.

Does anyone have data or experience loading 65gr frangible bullets in a 380? Locating this load data is almost as challenging as finding 380 frangible in an LGS!

As always, thanks in advance for your help!

Go to the Hodgdon reloading web site. Put in pistol, 380 auto and 65 gr bullet. They have a list of powders from Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester. Pick one, hit the 'load data' button and the data will appear below. I have good luck with Hodgdon HP 38/Win 231 (exact same powder). Looks like 3.1 gr is the starting load and 3.6 gr. is the max.

I presume that the Norma frangibles have a recommended velocity. Don't know the length of your barrel, but hopefully you have a chronograph.

Also, I'm SURE that Accurate powders would make a good load for this but they are on a different part of the website for some reason,
