Back in the old days I learned to write very well and wrote hand written letters all the time when I was in Military school. Now days I will make a grocery list and when I get to the store I have problems reading my own writing.

Why do you think I paid my proofreader 50 cents a page when the going rate was 30?
The best she got me with was "flower tortilla".
Came up five times in a 200 page transcript.

I am the Secretary for the Borough Planning Commission. I won't submit my meeting minutes sooner than the next day after I have made my first draft. I am amazed at how many corrections and changes I have to make when I read my minutes that next day. And now the meeting minutes of the Planning Commission are being published on the Borough web site, so the last thing I want is having a bunch of my mistakes memorialized on a public forum for all time. And proofreading for me means printing a copy off and reviewing it line by line with a straight edge.

If I had a brother and we agreed on something, it would be "My brother and I."
I used to like trying to read the traffic tickets I used to get. The police officer's writing was so terrible it looked like a 1st grade student wrote it. Usually it was a part time officer in some back woods township.

If you don't expect it......

As a Sergeant, if my guys grammar and spelling was bad enough to make a material difference, I would make them fix it before the report was approved, but I also learned that if they got embarrased in a defense interview or in court, their spelling and grammar often improved all on its own... :p

...it's not going to happen.

...Gun sold for big money...

The sad thing is, precision of language and accuracy of description mean nothing in the Mos Eisley Online Gunstore. A meticulously worded description probably wouldn't have increased the selling price.

I have clients who throw around huge dollar amounts in their business, and they can barely communicate face to face, and seem to make high-dollar business decisions by winging it. And here I am, overthinking everything I do so I don't lose money. I guess I'm just not one of the chosen ones.

I guess it doesn't matter how it is advertised on GB - if you don't care how much you get for it.
If you look at the auctions that go for higher than expected numbers, you'll find that generally they are well written with really good pictures.

I'm OK with poorly written descriptions.

I've gotten some really great deals taking chances on items that others overlooked because the ads were written poorly.

Conversely, I've bought some stuff I otherwise wouldn't have because I didn't read the description carefully. It works both ways.

I have some up coming surgery. Both the doctor's office and the hospital sent links to my phone to fill out the paper work electronically. There's a lot of paperwork and multiple times you have to sign.
For each signature they tell you to type your full name in this box and check this box to verify that this is your signature. How is this legal?
