Seems like 5.56 hit its peak and is descending

for loaded ammo the price may be going down (small sampling maybe), find .224 bullets and small rifle primers in stock. Don't think the 5.56 is going anywhere.

Monday's are the usual ammo delivery day at my local Sportmans Warehouse.

Last night they had Winchester .223 150 round range packs for $79.99 and Winchester M855 200 round range packs for $109.99. Remington 1000 round .223 cases for $549.99. Along with smaller boxes of Aguila and Federal 5.56 $11.99/20

With increased Christmas traffic in the store it was selling fast. I highly doubt it will make it through today.

So .50 to .60 per round. A couple of years back when I jumped on the AR bandwagon, I think it was running about .28/round and I was able to build my own for about .17/round, not including the case. Not a great savings but it's what I do, so I did it. I have components to build a couple thousand more. Since I don't do recreational AR shooting, I'm in great shape for now.
