Please contact Senator Murphy and tell him what you think.

Senator Murphy said

"You should play a constructive role in our national dialogue by refraining from broadcasting the NRA 500. By airing this race you will be strengthening the brand of a radical organization that is currently standing in the way of meaningful progress on this issue."

Even if you are not a NASCAR fan, tune in to at least boost the ratings!

Politicians..............................what can you say that might be nice??

NOTHING...............................

We all know politicos see themselves as above the people. If they don't get their way they BULLY in anyway they can. Name calling the NRA just proves that point.

Perhaps he should play a constructive role in our national dialogue by addressing the issues and root causes of violence in any form and stop the using the notoriety of the NRA to boost his own ramblings into the national media.

This is much like the technology industry - if you have something to say and want to make sure to get lots of news coverage just mention Apple - and you are sure to get on someones radar - even if all you are doing is comparing something to Apple - even when there is not reason to do so.

This Senator is living in an alternate universe. Blaming the NRA for Sandy Hook, is like blaming the AAA for a drunk driver. I hope Rupert Mudrock at Fox ignores this fool and shows the race, and the NRA sponsored car wins!

I heard this attributed to Abe. Lincoln, while running for congress.

He said "Politics" is a word derived from the Greek. POLI meaning Many and TICKS, meaning Blood Sucking Parasites.

Typical response from these liberals, I am very furious no mainstream media would allow NRA to advertise their views, yet they all gladly take the money from Bloomberg and dump his propaganda to the public, and that stupid video has many violations in terms of safety!!!

IT is time someone should start a new media company who would give equal access to various viewpoints.

They should send a letter to Connecticut asking that they keep the Senator from working tomorrow because the NRA sponsored race is on :D:D

They may not see the humor or that fact that their request is totally ridiculous

You'd be hard pressed to find anybody that cares less about NASCAR than I do. I've never gotten into racing and probably never will - it just doesn't interest me.

That being said....
In the interest of boosting the viewer ratings for the NRA 500, I think I'll turn the TV on the race with the volume off and leave the room.

Just my small contribution... :D

Well now, that seems to be a violation of first amendment rights. Not only to I want them to air this show wherever they can, I hope all drivers voluntarily put ultra visible NRA decals on every car in the race.

I got free tickets and took my wife to a Nascar Race last year.. loved it. One of the last vestiges of what America used to be... and the sound/feel of the cars was incredible... But we could make a deal... "we'll" unplug the Nascar race as soon as they stop shoving Newtown and the Giffords in our faces.

Would be a good time for NRA to make a quick speech about 2nd Amendment rights. No longer then 1 min tho us rednecks couldn't stand for it any longer. They could just say our guns today maybe our beer tomorrow....

after the baseball game today they had a live segment from the race track in Texas other than the fact there would be a sprint cup race there. no mention was made of the "NRA 500".

another anti-gun stance of libreal broadcasters, bloomberg, obama, biden, leftists, pelosi, feinstein, advertisers will suffer but,who cares about it? They are jealous libreals because,of the gun control bill. These peoples who are running hopefully, will get fired from their job and retire. I say hold for treason and,the congress members did not read much about these shooters that they have been planning the demise of these peoples who were shot and killed and wounded in the past.decades. I hope they all can look at them selves in the mirrorwhen reelection comes up. NO BRAG,JUST FACT.

Was it me or did Fox Sports sell out? I watched most of the race and never once heard the announcers call the race the NRA 500. When the on screen graphic showed the winner, it read "Texas 500". This just quizzes me off to no end.
