Send it Back or Live With it?

For a 686 re-aligned makes a lot more sense. I've actually mounted one of these barrels and in the process learned that getting them lined up perfectly is NOT AT ALL EASY as it sounds. Once you have the barrel clamped into a fitted nest to protect the finish on the barrel and a frame wrench fitted into the yoke cutout you only have 1/8-3/16 inch of the mating surfaces to get them line up. Add in that you are hanging off an 18 inch long handle to provide enough leverage to finish turning the frame into position you are trying to line up barely visible surfaces while contorting yourself like a chimpanzee hanging from a tree limb. So I wouldn't get worked up or send a revolver back because the barrel is just barely out of perfection because on the next attempt they may make it worse.

OP here - I just took another look at the work order… It says "relined barrel". The more I think of it, I'm wondering if it should have said re-aligned barrel?

Thoughts?

Probably means aligned. How does the barrel look? Does the front sight look as though it leans right or left? My 929 sight was maxed to the right to be centered and after close inspection I noticed the barrel was not tightened correctly. Went back to mothership for barrel correction and timing issue. When I got it back the sight had been adjusted back to center and it shot perfect with no adjustments needed-I was pretty happy about that.
