Watching the noon news they had a story that kind of choked me up.
The Washington Missouri high school has a tradition of inviting senior citizens to their prom.
Watching the geezers, most in their eighties and nineties, dancing with the eighteen year old hotties was a hoot. Lots of senior women there too. They were having a ball and surprisingly the kids seemed to be enjoying themselves too. Most of the oldsters were from nursing homes and senior centers. They were just loving the chance to get out and shake a leg. They've been doing this for the last 10 years.
I looked over and my wife had a tear running down her cheek.
Maybe there's hope for some of these kids afterall.

With threads about cop bashing, beating up blind ladies and addicts chewing out their kids eyes I just thought something a bit more upbeat might be appreciated.

Thanks for the link VA.
I'm a Virginian too, born in Newport News.

I can just see my old high school buddies trying to dance to rap-crap "music". On second thought, it may be a hoot. After the prom we could all go out and mug someone.

cass, watch the video. They were playing Big Band music. I'm sure the kids also had their share of modern music, but the older guys and gals didn't have to dance to it.
