It now functions perfectly. I had failures to fire and the laser issue. It took Smith and Wesson two tries but now it shoots great. It may just be that I was using cheap ammo when I had the ftf's. Then I bought some UMC and did not have any problem. I got a free mag for my trouble.

Now if i can only find the adjustment tool for my laser. Does anyone know what size allen wrench I should use for that?

So I shot Insight an email letting them know the wrench that came with the Insight laser on the S&W Bodyguard 380 was warped. 3 days later I received a new wrench in the mail. That was unexpected. Great service!

The description of the wrench on the shipping invoice states it is a 'Hex Key .035 S&W'.

Others say a 1/32nds allen key will work. I don't know about that as mine also measures .035"...slightly larger than 1/32".

email S&W they will ship you the keys free....thats how I got mine as my lazer was inches off center..but the gun has been flawless

Thanks

I'll email S&W for the key. BTW, I took the BG380 to the range again today. I tried my cheap PPU ammo made in Serbia again. Lots of ftf's. Put in a mag of UMC...no problems.

s&w 380

Had a guy in cincy have the 380 S&W fail to fire several times. He sent it back for repair. It seemed to not contact the primers hard enough.

I also had a BG380 that had to be sent back to the factory twice. When it still didn't work properly (laser issues) I sold it. As far as ammo goes, my P3AT, LCP and Sig P238 all work well with whatever ammo I feed them. It's disappointing that the BG380 has to have special ammo and you never know when it's going to FTF or not. There is absolutely no way I would ever depend on the BG380 as a defensive firearm.
