Textbook example:

Tonight I was sitting here posting in another section of the forum and a text message window with attached image pops up. It’s from a customer who is a facilities manager at a hospital and my first thought is that his chiller went down and the picture is of the diagnostic on the control panel. When chillers at hospitals go down, stuff can start rolling downhill quick if you can’t make them happy fast. It got my heart racing a bit, I was hoping for a quiet Friday night.

Anyway, he had meant to text someone else and it was a picture of a couple of pistols with prices. He realized his mistake and said whoops, sorry wrong person. I said, hey no problem, what else are you selling?:D It turns out he had a couple of S&W revolvers including a M66 snubby. I’m going to go meet up with him in the morning and get it. And the kicker is that the Mrs. and I are staying up in the metro area for her birthday weekend, so I don’t have to drive 100 miles one way from home to get it; it’s only about 10 miles from the hotel.:)

The partial pistols in the picture - a security six and a Luger?

What the rest of y'all think?

I think you’re right about the security six, though I didn’t discuss it with him. The Luger is a 1916 model with holster; I don’t know much about Lugers, but he mentioned the date.

I met up with him this morning. We were both laughing about how it all came about. I had never discussed guns with him(as I usually don’t in a work setting), and he had never mentioned them.

Anyway, it turned out to be a 686-1, not a 66. That was my fault, I had gotten 66 in my head when I saw the picture and since we were just texting, I was under the impression he had one of each. We ended up at $720 and I think I got a pretty good deal. I’ll post a little more about it in the appropriate revolver forum.

That's my next grail gun. I have a 6 inch 686 no dash, now I want a snubbing with those same stocks. Beautiful!

I'd drive a 100 miles for that one. Congrats and enjoy your upcoming weekend.
