The 4th edition Of the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson
on Page 491 lists reported triple alpha sightings of revolvers.
CCC is not specifically listed but CCD, CCE, CCF and CCH are
listed for 1997, CBP is the last listing for 1996 and the first
listing for 1998 is CCK.
Based on that information I would surmise your gun was made
in the summer of 1997.
I'm sure the folks who know stuff can pin it down better. That's
the best I can do with my very limited resources.
What code do we look for, and how do we tell the date from it? I missed that.
