Serial number help

Hello.

I just purchased a new-to-me Smith & Wesson revolver and I'm trying to to find out the exact model (if it's other than a hand ejector) and the year shipped. The things I know are:

I'ts old

As per the "Information Required" thread:

Hand Ejector
Serial number on the butt of the gun is 366358
It is .38 S&W Special caliber
The barrel is 5 inches long
It has the fixed Hand Ejector sight.

You have a .38 Special Military and Police model of 1902 1st Change. Was probably made in 1904.
Looks like a nice one.

Your revolver is a .38 Military and Police (M&P) Model from about 1921. In 1917, S&W dropped references in its advertising to the Model of 1905 (square butt) and Model of 1902 (round butt) K-frame revolvers, and called them simply M&Ps thereafter. Your revolver is mechanically identical to what had earlier been called a .38 Hand Ejector, Model of 1905 (as it has a square butt), fourth change, which was in production from 1915 to 1945 (with a few minor changes made), when an improved hammer safety was adopted. Your wooden grips are correct for the decade of the 1920s. Much later, in 1957, S&W adopted a model numbering nomenclature, and at that time, the M&P became a "Model 10."

Like DWalt said, probably 1921. It would be a 1905 4th change. Per my list 3445xx shipped June 1920, and 41645x in December 1922. These are from others posts regarding factory lettered guns. I won't post their full SN.
