Hey guys-
Considering buying a model 36 from a co-worker. SN is - J630655. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome! It was made in early 1977. What other information do you seek?

Thank You

Thanks for the quick response. I do have a question if you don't mind. In your opinion, what would be a fair price - he gets a fair price and we both walk away happy. Gun is in excellent condition. Thank you

Welcome to the forum from central Ohio...

Photos would help, but around here and in the condition that you describe, this should fetch between $450-$500. A bit more if the package includes box and tools.

You didn't mention if it has a 2" or 3" barrel. Depending on everyone's expectations I would guess about $400 or so, perhaps slightly less for a 3" (not that they are worse than the 2", just less in demand).

For the last few that I was tracking on Gunbroker, The 2”res were going for $400 +/- and 3”res for $500/$525.

Welcome aboard from ol' Wyo.

Beyond what's already been asked, is it blue or nickel? The nickel ones seem to command a bit higher tariff.

And, does it have a round or square butt?

At that vintage the right grip should have 630655 printed on the inside. There will likely be a "J" printed there, too, but it will be larger font and not in line with the numbers.
