Your revolver likely shipped in 1980.
Welcome to the Forum! Lots of .44 Magnum and Model 29 fans to be found here, as well as a wealth of information. I agree with Frailer, your 29-2 was manufactured in 1980. Your s/n is between my blued 6" 29-2 (s/n N631156) from 1979 and my nickel 6" 29-2 (s/n N771902) from 1980. But with S&W, the manufacture date rarely coincides with its shipping date. We always like to see pictures of our fellow Forum members revolvers, so if you could post some that would be great. Enjoy!
