In Jan of 23 Palmetto had a big ammo sale and was offering their 180 grain FMJ 10mm ammo for just over $20 a box so bought several boxes as range ammo. Last week, had my 1066 and 1026 out on the range with a box of this ammo. It felt inconsistent from round to round, but all felt overly hot with a sharp initial impulse like a .40 cal. So started picking up the brass and taking a look. Galled, and slightly bulged cases with flattened primers on a number of these rounds. It was enough to spook me and to report the issue to Palmetto.
May have just been an issue with this box, but sure got my attention! I have been shooting 10mm since the late 1990's and my carry ammo of choice is Underwood 180 gold dots. I have am used to shooting full power 10mm, but that particular box was definitely inconsistent from round to round and also would not group consistently. Will get some photos up later of a couple cases, but if you have any of this AAC 180 G FMJ 10MM ammo, use caution with it!
