Serious Question

I've been around this forum for a long time, even though I don't post much. There is much wisdom here and I learn a lot by just creep'n around.

I have some questions -

1) Is the government buying up ammo that would normally be sold to the population and if so why?

2) Are they stock piling MRE's & body bags and if so why?

3) What are FEMA camps, are they real, and if so what are they for?

I realize that folks are buying up ammo and that's why the shelves are empty.
I am not a doomsdayer, I am not part of any militia or similar group, and I love this country. I can not figure out how to sift through all of th BS these days and find what is true and fact.

As Comrad said, just be prepared because I don't put it past them that they want to 'load the Supreme Court' and effectively repeal the
2nd Amendment. And then they'll want you to "turn in your guns"; so keep an eye on what they're trying to do in Illinois.....

luckily they did not have enough support to even put the ban on mags and semi auto firearms to a vote today(as reported by our local news).
so we get a pass for now....

But it's astonishing to me that they're even attempting to ban certain guns without a grandfather clause thus forcing registered owners to turn them in! Ballsy! Should give you some insight into their agenda and their goals....and when it comes to politics, the libs fight dirty and smarter....we need to take lessons....

Jerry, I think the first step might be to turn off the computer and the TV, but beyond that, I cannot be much help. It can seem a bit bewildering if you get too much "information."

As to stacking the SC, every administration in recent history has tried to do that when they got the chance. Nothing new there. I personally would favor a constitutional amendment to specify that SC justices serve ONE 10-year term and then are unceremoniously thrown out and replaced with a new crop, whether they like it or not. I am extremely uncomfortable with the current arrangement of appointing justices and allowing them to remain until they are satisfied "they have done all the damage they can do."

Serious questions, serious answers.

1) Ammunition. The Government is continually buying ammunition. These contracts are large and seriously use up manufacturing resources limiting the time and materials available for manufacturing ammunition for retail sale. We are currently at war in the Middle-East, this takes ammunition. Have you forgotten this? Current shortages are a result of excess demand and panic buying, not the gov't buying ammunition already manufactured for retail sale.

2) MREs & body bags. Both of these items are one-use expendables, so there are contracts to replace these in inventory as they are depleted or reach their expiration date in the case of MREs. MREs are utilized as field rations, you eat one another has to be bought to replace it!

3) FEMA camps. Yes, they have existed. FEMA is the Federal Emergency Management Administration, of the Department of Homeland Security. At the time of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and the surrounding area so many people were left homeless as a result that the FEMA bought thousands of residential trailers as temporary housing. These trailers were sited in trailer parks, and could, legitimately, be characterized as "FEMA Camps". There is nothing sinister about this, they were not "prisoner camps" in any way.

These all sound like Internet conspiracy rumors.

I know, it pains me to say it, but how else do you explain how they've managed to monopolize the media, managed to move so many to entitlement programs, pass an unwwanted healthcare bill, spend like a drunken sailor who fell into a Brinks truck, etc. Annual deficits are 10 times higher than when Bush was called 'irresponsible'....and negotiate $1 of spending cuts to every $41 in new taxes???? They're smarter.

1. The government does buy large quantities of small arms ammunition for the military and various law enforcement agencies. They are not buying ammo to keep it out of consumer retail channels.

2. The government does purchase large amounts of MREs and body bags. I assume they have a large stockpile of these available at any time. The reason is in case of natural or man made disasters. These things happen and the government would be blamed if these things were not available in a time of need.

3. Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) camps are real, but I do not think there are many, if any, currently in operation. They are temporarily set up using trailers or mobile homes after a disaster which leaves thousands homeless. Basically, they are meant to give disaster victims shelter while they put their lives back together.

Living on the Texas Gulf Coast all of my life I've seen many nearby disasters and been through three or four myself. The latest I personally experienced was Hurricane Ike. I was prepared for what came down in Ike, it was not fun, tens of thousands of other people effected had no concept of what it could get like. FEMA came in and I give them a C+ for their work.

Life's trials can be hard especially for the least prepared.
