Will the Smith & Wesson service center acknowledge the receipt of a firearm sent in for service? Will the sender receive any correspondence from Smith & Wesson?

Yes. The service center lets you know via email when the gun is received. But I have had to call in regards to when the service will actually be done. For me, 3months in the performance center. Calling doesnt speed it up any. Just makes the wait feel longer.

Thanks

Fed-Ex tells me the package was signed for and received at Service center on Thursday but I never heard anything from S&W.

Give them 2 days. I just sent one in and they sent me an email with a pdf letter with a rma# (return merchandise agreement #)
You can keep the rma for your records till the firearm is fixed or when calling them on it for info.
I also got the confirm from FedEx that it was signed received. I wouldn't worry. If you got the confirm from FedEx- they got your baby!
