Shall I trade even for my Sig 522 for 15-22?

I have a 1 month old SIG 522 classic and have really enjoyed shooting at the range. I also have a 15-22 that is standard.
A gun dealer friend wants to trade my Sig 522 for a slightly used 15-22 MOE in FDE that I really wanted before I settled on the SIG or sale for $580.

Would you keep the SIG and just buy the 15-22 MOE? Or trade. I have over 10 different .22lr guns and I am wanting a good AR or AK soon as shooting .22lr with no kick is getting boring.

I wouldn't trade my 522 for any other tacti-cool 22lr. It has been 100% reliable, is super accurate, and in my opinion is built much better than the 15-22.

I wouldnt trade my sig 522 for any other 22 on the market. ive got thousands and thousands of trouble free rounds through mine. And for the past 6 months its been exclusively the Remington golden bullet that everyone seems to think is problematic. I havent found ammo yet that it wont eat.

You have two of the best (IMO) .22lr tactical style rifles on the market.

If you just want Magpul MOE furniture (grip, butt stock, flip up sights), just buy them and put them on your existing 15-22. The only thing you won't have is the QD sling mount on the lower.

What's the point of having a standard & a MOE 15-22? I'd rather have a 15-22 & a Sig 522.

Its a tough call, that's for sure. I wanted a SIG 522 over the 15-22, but landed a 15-22 before I found a 522. I have shot both, and even though I sometimes wish I had the 522 over my 15-22, it isn't enough for me personally to want to do a trade for the other.

Good points. I will keep the 522 as I didn't realize so many people have excellent reviews on the reliability of the SIG. It does eat anything I can give it.
I have seen threads where you can paint your 15-22 flat dark earth and good points on just getting MAGPUL accessories.
Now if I can just find a 15 sport...

I like the Sig's trigger and lowered position stock (in relation to the top rail). It's accurate and reliable. The 15-22 is lighter and I have more fun with it shooting off hand. There are far more AR related accessories available than for the Sig. If I had to decide.... ummm.... I would choose both. :D

I'm really liking that 22-45! I was disappointed to see Ruger drop the wood grips for black panels this year. I looked at that exact 22-45 at the gun show this past weekend and the one with the wood panels. After seeing yours, I think I like the black panels better now.

Is that a fake can?

My Ruger 22/45 RP-Threaded came with slim wood grips that I didn't care for the looks or thickness. I had some rubber 1911 grips that I put on it.

It's a real can. YHM Wraith.

I would trade the standard 15-22 for the model you want and keep the 522 if you like it and it runs god for you. I'm not a fan of paint on guns. I don't care how DURAble it's suppose to be. It wears, chips, or scratches eventually if you actually use your your firearms. The FDE models color will always look good(I'm assuming S&W uses colored polymer). The trade up or sell and re-buy would probably cost close to the same as buying all the Magpul stuff and painting everything else.

Well I paid $400 for the 15-22 MOE FDE with a trade of a Heritage 22lr revolver yesterday with my dealer. Keeping my SIG 522.
My girl is 12 and likes to shoot sometimes but I have a neighbor ,single mom with a 15 year old boy that his dad is a deadbeat.
The kid always comments on how he loves my guns.
I handed him the 15-22 and said it's yours and I will keep it in my safe for you and we can go to the range and shoot together.
I never seen a kid with that much excitement over a gun as the 15-22.
This forum has an effect on me and thanks for the comments.

Now teach that boy to shoot and some gun safety and he will be in there. Kudos to you.
